Smart Controller C-R200, WC100 Models: Issues During "Add Smart Controller"

Smart Controller C-R200, WC100 Models: Issues During "Add Smart Controller"

Notes
Requirements
  1. The Smart Controller only supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11 b/g/n), not 5 GHz.
  2. Wi-Fi security must be set to WPA2-Personal or WPA3-Personal.
  3. Ensure a strong Wi-Fi signal (at least 3 bars) in the location where you will set up your Smart Controller.
  4. The Smart Controller must be connected to its original power adapter. Avoid plugging it into a computer or a router’s auxiliary USB port.

Step 3: Fail to connect to the Neo-Smart-Blinds Wi-Fi network

Although the Wi-Fi signal may appear strong before connection, it can drop significantly in intensity while the Smart Controller is transmitting information. Keep your phone or tablet within a few feet to minimize transmission problems, and follow the steps shown in the app. Once completed, the Smart Controller will connect to your Wi-Fi directly, and you will no longer need to keep your phone or tablet close to it.

Step 5: Adding a Smart Controller fails

There are a few possible reasons why the Smart Controller fails in the last step of the Add Smart Controller process. From most common to least, check the potential causes below, based on the LED indicator on the bottom of the Smart Controller.
  1. LED blinking green or blue: Weak Wi-Fi Signal
    1. If your Smart Controller rapidly blinks green or blue, it indicates a weak Wi-Fi signal. Move the Smart Controller closer to your router and restart the Add Smart Controller process.
  2. LED blinking green for quite a while: Trying to connect to the Internet,  Wi-Fi Credentials may be wrong
    1. Tap the eye icon to reveal the Wi-Fi password you entered on the Wi-Fi setup step. Double-check the network name and password entered. If unsure, you can test by using another device, such as another phone or tablet, to ensure credentials are correct.
  3. LED slow blinking green light: No Internet Access or Firewall Restrictions
    1. A slow blinking green light means no internet access or firewall blockage. Confirm internet connectivity and adjust firewall settings as needed.
  4. LED flashing alternating between blue-green and orange: Firewall Blocking Server Access
    1. An alternating cyan (blue-green) and orange flashing indicates firewall blockage. Whitelist your Smart Controller's MAC address and allow outgoing TCP connections to port 5683.
If the Smart Controller keeps failing, show other symptoms, or if you need further assistance, please contact our technical support.
