Troubleshooting for Neo Motors

Motor is not responding

Insufficient power to the motor

Battery motors: Please charge the battery at least for 2 hours and try again. Full battery charge may take about 6 hours. See topic "Battery Motor won't charge via USB" below to ensure you are using a compatible wall adapter/charger.

Wired motors: There might be an issue with the wiring connections. Ensure the wires are connected as specified in the "Power Connection" section of the motor's instructions.

Not holding the HEAD button long enough: To enter pairing mode, you need to press the button, and keep it pressed, for 3 seconds, until the motor moves. For TM-BRB25 only, some models has a ON/OFF switch on the motor head. Please check if the power switch is in the ON position.

Battery Motor Won’t Charge via USB

Do not use fast chargers or multi‑voltage chargers that list outputs such as 5 V / 9 V, 5 V / 9 V / 12 V, or similar. Even if they include 5 V, these chargers will not charge the motor.

Use a 5 V‑only wall adapter/charger

The wall adapter must be a standard 5 V USB charger, not a laptop USB port, power bank, or USB hub. Below are examples of compatible and non‑compatible chargers.

Check the LED indicator

When a compatible 5 V‑only charger is properly connected, the LED on the motor head will turn on to indicate that charging has started.

If the LED still does not turn on

Ensure the wall adapter with a known 5 V‑only USB charger.
Ensure the used USB cable and charger is able to charge any other device.
Ensure the cable is fully inserted into both the motor and the adapter.
If the battery motor is fully drained, allow 30 minutes of charging before the LED on the motor turns on.
If the LED still does not turn on after all the above, contact Neo Smart Blinds support for further assistance.

Cannot pair the motor with a remote control

The motor pairing mode lasts 30 seconds. Pressing the set button on the back of the remote control should be done within this period.

Ensure you are using a Neo remote control with a functioning battery.
Verify that the motor you're attempting to pair has an RF (radio frequency) module. For instance, wand motor models starting with TM-WB do not have this module and thus cannot be paired with a remote control, only controlled via wand.
If the environment contains excessive 433MHz RF devices (RF noise), it may interfere with the pairing process.

Motor only moves inch by inch in one or both directions

This behaviour indicates that the open and/or close limits have not been set. Please refer to the "Setting Limits" section in the motor's or remote control's instructions.

Motor moves in the opposite direction

This behaviour suggests that the open and/or close limits are reversed. Please refer to the "Reverse Direction" section in the motor's or remote control's instructions.
